Waiting for test results sucks
Until I know more in 2 days or so….regarding the final impact of last night’s refeed….I don’t want to plan too far ahead. What I know so far is…..I slept ok last night…but not as great as after higher carb refeeds. I had a lot of physical energy today and did a decent redeplete workout. I gained more weight on this refeed than on any other…..about 6 pounds. I didn’t….um…..”excrete” (bowel movements, people!!!) on the day of the refeed for the first time I can recall….although I did a bit of “elimination” today. I didn’t have any residual cravings today. I wasn’t hungry today…..and I ate only 260 grams of beef / lamb…all raw.
While I’m a bit dissatisfied that bi-weekly refeeds will turn a “zero carb diet” into something more like a standard cyclic ketogenic diet…..I am cognizant that in the end….it’s the results that matter most to me. Not just in terms of “looks”….but in terms of average daily mental and physical energy. One other alternative would be to just up the fat a lot on my zero carb days and do less frequent refeeds…..but I’m not convinced that I can maintain the exercise regimen that I prefer without some carbs…..and as of now, if the most recent refeed becomes the model……I’ll be eating 100 grams of carbs each day for two days a week….and zero carbs for 5 days a week. Averaged out….that’s less than 30 grams of carbs per day.
So….for now, I wait to see how much of the 6 pounds gained since yesterday falls off as water retention…and how I feel overall during the next two days. Sorta’ like waiting for test results….it sucks.
